Veterans Day in Fountain Hills: Home of the Free, Because of the Brave

Fountain Hills Pay’s a BIG RED Tribute to It’s Veterans this Friday

If last week was “Wine Week” in Fountain Hills, this week is “Veteran’s Appreciation Week.”  Leave it to Fountain Hills to create a world-renowned event from the hard work of some volunteers and good intentions!

Things kick off Thursday evening with a casual celebration of the 236th Marine Corp Birthday.  Sonoran Lifestyle agents Pat Pagliuco and Suzanne Nann came up with a great idea to honor their Marine Corp husbands, and Gary Lvov, manager at the Holiday Inn Fountain Hills is contributing with free happy hour appetizers from 5-8 pm.  Marines from all over the Valley of the Sun are invited along with their spouses or significant others.

Later that afternoon, Fountain Park will turn red with hundreds (thousands???) of volunteers with their red shirts that say “Fountain Hills…Home of the Free, Because of the Brave.  This event kicks off at 2:00 p.m.  The event will feature
Congressman David Schweikert, County Attorney Bill Montgomery, and Pinal County  Sheriff Paul Babeu.  There will be a salute to the troops and an F-16 fly over along with entertainment by Tommy Holloway & The Fountain Hills
Community Band, a fly over by a vintage B-17, sky divers, and the World Famous Fountain will be turned red.

If anyone is interested in riding in the B-17 which is scheduled to fly over at the end of the ceremony, the 3 seats in the front of the plane are $850.00 each and the 5 in the back are 425.00 each.
