The Town of Fountain Hills encourages involvement in government through volunteerism. Many department services are enhanced and provided with great cost savings because of the generosity of time and talent given by the citizens of Fountain Hills. Once again, Fountain Hills joins organizations across the country to take part in the 21st “Make a Difference Day”, the nation’s largest day of volunteerism. For newcomers, this is a great opportunity to form new friendships and give back to the community.
Volunteers will gather and receive their assignments on Saturday, October 26, 7:30 a.m. at Golden Eagle Park, 15900 E. Golden Eagle Blvd. The Fountain Hills “Make a Difference Day” will bring together the faith community, clubs and organizations and town volunteers with a common mission to contribute where the needs exist in our town. The jobs may include raking and cleaning up yards, cleaning up trash in garages, building wheelchair ramps for elderly homebound residents or even patching homes where owners cannot keep up with needed improvements and a variety of painting and cleaning duties.
