Jazz in the Hills Winter Season Lights up the Emerson Gallery

logojazz (1)The Emerson Gallery is the setting for the 2016 “Jazz in the Hills” concert series.  The intimate venue within this exceptional Gallery enhances the experience and delights all the senses.  The Gallery features the work of 40 local artists, and each seat affords an “up close and personal” experience.

An evening of “Hard Bop” featuring artists Denny Monce on Trumpet, Bryon Ruth on Sax, Jack Radavich on Bass, Dave Henning on Piano, and Ryan Anthony on Drums.

“The quintet will be playing tunes from some favorite hard-bop jazz musicians such as Hank Mobley, Lee Morgan, and Duke Pearson”.  7:00-9:30 p.m.

Cleo Corcoran – Brazil! @ The Emerson Art Gallery

Singer Cleo Corcoran, originally from Rio de Janeiro, has a great love of bossa nova and the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim. Her influences include Astrud Gilberto, Elis Regina, and Gal Costa. Cleo is backed by some of Phoenix’s finest bossa nova musicians with a repertoire that includes the entire classic as well as some more unusual musical gems. Cleo appears in the intimate setting of The Emerson Art Gallery.  7:00-9:45 p.m.

Bassist Jack Radavich brings his trio to Jazz in the Hills!

Jack has played bass for, well, everyone! His shows at Jazz in the Hills always have a theme and tend to be some of the most entertaining of the season. Jack has played with groups as diverse and the Mood Blues and that Master of the Blues, B.B. King—the Coasters, the Drifters, Steve and Edie…you get the picture.  7:00-9:30 pm
