“The best way to pay for a lovely moment is to enjoy it”  Richard Bach

April in Arizona reminds us, “If you’re lucky enough to live in the Sonoran Desert foothills, you’re lucky enough!”

Spring wildflowers are in abundance, sunrises and sunsets are spectacular, and outdoor living, dining and recreation are the order of every sun-filled day. The twilight hours lengthen, patios become our prime living spaces…Life is good in Fountain Hills.

Play It Again Sam

April #2play-it-again-samWoody Allen’s career as a playwright and later actor/director accelerated with the success of his 1968 play, “Play it again Sam.” Fountain Hills Mainstage Theater’s April offering is a “Hilarious… a cheerful romp. Not only are Mr. Allen’s jokes and their follow ups, asides and twists audaciously brilliant, but he has a great sense of character.” – The New York Times

Nominated for 4 Tony awards, the play follows newly divorced playwright Allan Felix who has this thing about Humphrey Bogart. If only he had some of Bogart’s technique… Bookish and insecure with women, Allan’s hero, Bogey comes to the rescue, with a fantastic bevy of beauties played out in hilarious fantasy

sequences. Fixed up by friends with gorgeous women, he’s so awkward that even the mythical Bogey’s patience is tried.

Tickets are available on-line or by calling the Theater, 480-837-9661 ex: 3

April brings the perfect weather for a good game of Pickleball!

Pickleball is a combination of ping-pong, tennis, and badminton. In the oddly named sport, singles or double teams hit a waffle ball over a low net with wooden or composite paddles.

Parks and Recreation provides the paddles and waffle balls but players are encouraged to bring their own. Pickleball is a fun, easy sport to learn, and regular players are eager to teach newcomers. There is drop-in play daily and schedules are posted at the Palisades Courts.
