Roller Derby 101 at the Library (Yes— With Real Roller Derby Pros!)
Roller Derby is coming to Fountain Hills! It’s true—join the professional women of Arizona Roller Derby as they compete in a demo bout in the library parking lot! For kids and teens who want to learn more about the sport, AZRD skaters will be on hand afterward to teach you the basics of shoe derby. Wear closed-toed shoes and stick around to learn from some of the best skaters in the state!

STEM at the Library—Kids and Crystals
STEM=Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. This STEM experiment focuses on the amazing formation of Crystals. Crystals are found in minerals that have had the chance to grow naturally into a specific shape. Crystals are in metals, precious stones, snow, sugar, and salt. This hands-on activity uses Borax soap to create crystals; for Children 5-11-Years Old. Free, but registration needed by noon on the day of class.

Is it hard to sit still when you hear music with a good beat? It’s time to answer the call of the music and strut you stuff. Come to the library after school for the first “Just Dance” competition of the year and show off your skills!

Fountain Hills Youth Gardening Club Gets Their Hands Dirty
Arizona is a great climate for learning how to cultivate a garden and grow your own food. Or, maybe you just like to play in the Dirt! Either way, join with other Gardening Club youth every other Friday after school to help tend the library’s plot in the community garden.

It’s like Project Runway…right here in Fountain Hills! If your wardrobe is getting stale or you’re interested in upgrading your accessory skills, pop into the Library and take part in Project Accessorize! You’ll find a variety of items, including wallets, belts, bags, jewelry, and shoes. Enter as a team or an individual, pick your project, and compete to see whose accessories will win them the title of Best Designer!
