Kite flying is a cultural tradition that is common in India and Pakistan.

One of Arizona’s largest kite festivals is one of a kind of event, and sponsored by the town of Fountain Hills. Families are encouraged to bring their own kites, or purchase one for a nominal cost of $5.00. Last year many of the kites flown were large custom made kites, and Fountain Park provided the right wind conditions for an amazing kite flying kiteflying6experience. In addition, there will be live music, various ethnic foods, henna tattoos, and the star of the festival “hundreds of flying kites.”

Last year, approximately 2000 people attended the festival, and this year another 2000 people are expected. This year’s festival  is on March 11th, and will begin at 11:00 am, and go on throughout the day until 6:00 pm.
