Spend the weekend, and choose from a variety of activities that include hiking, fishing, kayaking, and camping. If you do choose to camp at Woods Canyon Lake, you can camp in of the lake’s established campgrounds, or follow the Rim Lake road to the backside of the lake for dispersed camping. Make sure to book in advance at www.recreation.gov for a guaranteed spot at the Aspen or Spillway campgrounds. The campgrounds are simple, and convenient to the lake.

Love to hike? Venture onto the Rims Lakes Vista Trail, less than a mile from the campground, and others lead to the spectacular views of the Mogollon Rim. This easy trail snakes around the lake, and the roads are paved which makes for a great afternoon for bike rides. Finished the hike? Take the family, and spend a couple of hours fishing on the lake. Trout fishing both in the lakes and streams is a favorite pastime. If you’re are planning fishing, make sure to remember Woods Canyon Lake only allows electric boats.
