Senior Activity Center hosts dozens of interesting courses, activities and presentations each month in the Fountain Hills Community Center. February 4, 2016:  River of Time Museum Volunteer Open House

Stop by the museum for coffee and bagels and lean about the different ways you can help keep the waters flowing at the River of Time. Lots of opportunities to use your talents and work with a wonderful group of volunteers.  9:00 a.m.

February 4, 2016:  Campground Bird Walk for Beginner Birders

McDowell Mountain Regional Park; Ranger Amy will lead this 1-1/2 hour class to learn how to spot local and migrating birds. Bring your own binoculars.  8:00-9:30 a.m. 16300 N. McDowell Mountain Park Dr.

February 7, 2016:  Become a Junior Ranger

McDowell Mountain Regional Park

Feb #3 McDowell Mountain ParkBring your kids (ages 4-12) out to the park for this “on your own” program. Stop by the Visitor Center between 9am-10am to pick up the Junior Ranger booklet. Head outside to complete the activities, and have fun! Return to the Nature Center when you’re finished to pick up the Jr. Ranger badge you earned! Activities can be completed within 1-2 hours. (Please note the Nature Center closes at 4pm)

February 11, 2016:   Library “Heart Attack”

Yikes! The library has been attacked by hearts of all sizes and colors. Help us save the library by participating in numerous “heart” activities such as shape poetry, card making, and candy dipping. For children, ages 4- 12. Adult supervision required for children 4-8-years-old.  3:30-4:30p.m. Library Conference Room.  Funded by the Fountain Hills Friends of the Library.

February 13, 2016:  Front Porch Concert Series:  Territorial Brass

Territorial Brass was formed in February 1987 and was quickly recognized by museums across Arizona as an entertaining living history resource. Dressed in turn-of-the-century costume (modeled after the Prescott and Bisbee brass bands), Territorial Brass recaptures the golden age of the American town band. TICKETS ARE REQUIRED FOR ADMISSION TO THIS PROGRAM. They can be picked up at the Customer Service Desk at the library.   2:00-3:00 p.m., Fountain Hills Community Center

February 13, 2016:  Adult CPR Class

The purpose of this course is to train individuals to overcome any reluctance to act in emergency situations and to recognize and care for life-threatening respiratory or cardiac emergencies in children or adults. The classes cover adult, child and infant CPR; the use of an Automated External Defibrillator (AED), and first aid for choking. The Fountain Hills Fire Department provides the certified CPR instructors. February 13, 2016:  Concours in the Hills

Feb #6Concours_in_the_Hills_AerialThis is the third annual celebration of Collector Cars in Fountain Hills, and as many as 600 Classic cars are expected. The event benefits the Scottsdale Area (including Fountain Hills Branch) of the Boys and Girls Club. Concours showcases a diverse range of ultra-high performance, luxury, and classic vehicles from both imported and domestic manufacturers. Spectator admission is free and there will be lots of free parking in the lot behind Sonoran Lifestyle Real Estate.  Fountain Park;  10:00 a.m.- 2:00 p.m.

Who are the Ft. McDowell Yavapai?

Who are the Ft. McDowell Yavapai? is presented by Karen Ray. Karen is the Cultural Specialist and Museum Manager for the Ft. McDowell Yavapai Nation and co-author of the book Speak Yavapai Right Now.

The event is free but box lunches are available $6 for members and $7 for nonmembers. Box lunches include a choice of macaroni or potato salad, a cookie, and one of three sandwiches.

The Fountain Hills Chamber hosts the annual “State of the Town” meeting featuring a look back and the forward.  This informative address will be presented at the February Chamber of Commerce breakfast meeting, and will include the opportunity to gain some in-depth knowledge about the triumphs as well as the challenges facing the town.  7:30-8:45 a.m. Community Center

Feb#11 Glass at the Great FairMore than 500 artists show their wares ranging from small gift and décor items to larger than life sculptures. From breakfast to lunch to dinner, a wide variety of food fare is also available in the centrally located food court and on Saguaro in front of the fountain. Live music all day is a delight.

Concours in the Hills Comes to Fountain Hills February 15, 2014

Saturday February 15th brings classic, collector and high performance cars to Fountain Park!

These cars will be brought together to be viewed and judged at Fountain Park. There could not be a better location to enjoy these beautifully engineered cars – the back drop of the Fountain and surrounding For Peaks views will make for a stunning show.

The Concours is supported by the leading car clubs of Arizona representing Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche, Jaguar, Ford GT, Viper, Corvette, Lotus, De Tomaso, DeLorean and others.

Judging will be by exhibitors and “People’s Choice”, allowing visitors to participate.

There will be three classes:

Best Import

Best Domestic

Best of Show

To participate in the show there is a minimum donation of $50 per vehicle. Spectator admission is free.

All proceeds will go to Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Scottsdale. Tax receipts will be issued to sponsors.
