Easter Season is Egg-actly Perfect In Fountain Hills

Painted EggsEaster-time weather in Arizona is about as close to perfect as we come throughout the year.  Breakfast or dinner on our patios becomes the norm, and all manner of outdoor living—walking and hiking, golf, tennis, pickle ball, and maybe the very best of all, sun rise and sunsets are at their glorious best.

Two of Fountain Hills longest-standing traditions, (the free and often comical “Eggstravaganza” and the non-denominational Easter Sunrise Service in Fountain Park), are just a few of the ways we celebrate Easter with our friends and family.

EggstravaganzaRated in the top three Easter Egg events in the greater Phoenix area, the Fountain Hills Eggstravaganza is a delight, whether you have kids or grandkids participating or not!

More than15,000 plastic eggs stuffed with goodies are spread out over two baseball fields in Golden Eagle Park.  The scramble for eggs is divided by age group, with toddlers/3 yr. olds in one field, and the older kids in the other. Kids must be 7 yrs. and younger to participate, must be accompanied by an adult, and must bring his or her own basket.

The actual chase for the eggs is slated for 9-10 a.m., but if you are bringing children to participate, you need to be parked and on the field by 8:45—the race for the eggs is fast and furious, and it is all over in about 10 minutes!  The Fountain Hills Fire Department will have trucks on hand for the kids to explore, and Noon Kiwanis will be serving breakfast.  Yummmmm.

Easter Sunrise Service In Fountain Park

Don’t miss the breath-taking event on Easter Morning.  The annual non-denominational Easter Sunrise Service is held in Fountain Park.  This celebration draws from across the Valley, so bring a chair and a blanket, as it will be a bit nippy.

Sunday, March 27, 2016, 6:00 a.m. (but come early so you don’t miss a thing:  Sunrise will be about 6:20)

Sharp at 9am the Fire Engine horn will sound and children 7 & Under will storm the baseball fields to claim as many of the fun filled eggs that they can before it is over in a flash!

Hoppy Bunny will be the Master of Ceremonies and Clucky Chicken will be on hand to help him with all the children.

The Kiwanis will start the event at 8am with a pancake breakfast, but if you miss it before the egg hunt, stop by after as they will keep it warm for you until 10am.

The children can enjoy some bouncy castles & Easter Cookies after the event!

Watch as hundreds of kids scramble to pick up more than 15,000 eggs stuffed with candy and other prizes. Held on the ball fields at Golden Eagle Park, this event is a special way for our little tykes to celebrate the spring season. Hoppy Bunny will serve as Master of Ceremonies and will be available for hugs and pictures throughout the event. Clucky the Chicken will join Hoppy Bunny again this year to hang out with kids and take photos. The event is open to children up to seven years old who must be accompanied by an adult. The kids are separated into different age groups so that toddlers can enjoy the wonder of finding an egg of their own and not be trampled by the 5-7 year-old “veterans of the hunt.”

The Kiwanis will be at the park again this year for their popular “Pancake Breakfast”. Get to the park early and have a hearty breakfast before the main event. You can also visit with the Fountain Hills Fire Department, which will have trucks to climb on and firefighters, showing the kids their trucks and gear. No event would be complete without inflatable bouncers for the kids
