Fountain Hills In-Home Concert Series
One of the most unique activities in Fountain Hills is the Fountain Hills Cultural and Civic Association’s (FHCCA) In-Home concert series. Two separate ticket series are available—Classical and Jazz. The venues are spacious private homes affording each participant an intimate musical interface with the artists.

The Desert Tortoise
Did you know that we have desert tortoises that live in the wild? Learn about these unique creatures through a brief presentation by Ranger Amy.
Dozens of different seasonal talks that include easy on-site tours. You can also check out the live animals on display in the Visitor Center, including a rattlesnake, Gila monster, gopher snake, scorpions and a tarantula! Program takes place at the Visitor Center

Fridays Fitness Hike – Dixie Mine Trailhead (End of Golden Eagle Blvd)
McDowell Mountain Regional Park
Meet at Dixie Mine Trailhead – at the end of Golden Eagle Blvd, in Fountain Hills (outside of park). This hike will offer a slower/shorter option (no more than 5-miles) and an option of a faster hike with a distance of between 8-12 miles. Park entry fee is $2. Long hike will be led by Kevin B. Bring plenty of water, snacks and make sure to have comfortable shoes and clothing.

Move over, Gordon Ramsey! Coed students in this class will learn the basic elements of cooking. Students will be taught recipes and preparation methods for various foods from around the world, kitchen safety, cooking terms and recipe structure. Beginner French
Jan 14, 2016 to Feb 11, 2016; Each Thursday 5:30pm to 7pm
Class is open to kids from 7-15 with a “French Camp,” where the language is used for three days, topped off with a “French” picnic.
This class is designed for kids to learn conversational French. Students will learn through interacting with one another and playing out scenes (such as meeting at a cafe or going to school). Additionally, they will also watch movies and play games in French. On the last day of class, students will celebrate with a French picnic.
***Note: Adult French classes available as well. Registration required, and class is held to intimate number.

Horse lover alert! Special Author presentation relating to our area’s wild horse herds.
The Horse Lover is a personal history of H. Alan Day’s efforts to establish a sanctuary for unadoptable wild horses being warehoused by the Bureau of Land Management. Day lobbied Congress to allow him to turn 35,000 acres that he had purchased into Mustang Meadows Ranch, the first government-sponsored wild horse sanctuary established in the United States.
Note: Due to popularity of the topic, this book talk will be held in the Community Center.
