“I Love You, You’re Perfect, Now Change”

July 18-27

Friday and Saturday, 8:00 p.m.;  Sunday 2:00 p.m.

Ensemble cast explores the highs and lows of romance and relationships.  Dating and waiting, love and marriage, including the dynamics of how a newborn can change in-laws into out-laws; how the “family trip” can unleash whole new personality traits, and how the geriatric set handles “dating” again.

Always a Bridesmaid logoAlways a Bridesmaid

August  15-24

Thursday, Friday, Saturday, 8:00 p.m.;  Sunday 2:00 p.m.

Striving to keep a Prom-night promise to be in each-other’s weddings, four  lifelong friends keep their pledge over time.   Forty years later these four women work through the realities of how their  very different dreams, aspirations and life pathways have worked out.  Fun, poignant and often “laugh out loud” hilarious, but totally unpredictable.  A great tribute to the durability and importance of women’s friendships.

Coming Attractions at the Fountain Hills Community Theater…

A Funny Thing Happened ActorJudged by many as the funniest play to ever grace a Broadway stage, A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM returns to the Fountain Hills Main Stage Theater, September 13-October 6, 2013.

A FUNNY THING HAPPENED ON THE WAY TO THE FORUM is a non-stop laugh-fest in which Pseudolus, a crafty slave, struggles to win the hand of a beautiful but slow-witted courtesan named Philia, for his young master, Hero, in exchange for freedom. The plot twists and turns with cases of mistaken identity, slamming doors, and a showgirl or two.

Thursday, Friday & Saturday @ 8:00PM / Sunday @ 2:00PM

Theater Actor AngelThis Season’s Family Christmas presentation, THE BEST CHRISTMAS PAGEANT EVER,  December 6-22, 2013 is side-splitting funny for all ages.  When a trio of irreverent siblings discover that the local Church provides snacks for the young participants in their annual Christmas Pageant, they “Crash” the party with a wallop!  This drama pits the little rascals against the established “Mary,” “Joseph” and the “Shepherds and Angels,” upsetting the established “but we’ve always done it this way” norm.

In this hilarious Christmas tale, a couple struggling to put on a church Christmas pageant is faced with casting the Herdman kids– probably the most inventively awful kids in history. You won’t believe the mayhem– and the fun– when the Herdmans collide with the Christmas story head on!

Friday & Saturday @ 7:00PM / Sunday @ 2:00PM

A delight for all ages, this one will sell out quickly, so make your reservations early:  480-837-9661

Fountain Hills Award-winning Theater Heats Up in the Summer

Fountain Hills Theater LogoOne of the most enduring pleasures of life in Fountain Hills is our world-class Fountain Hills Community Theater.  Buoyed-up by more than 10,000 volunteer hours per year, our professionally staffed Main Stage and Youth Theaters are the most award-winning non-equity theater ensemble in Arizona.

Not “your Momma’s Community Theater”, Fountain Hills Community Theater productions range from classics like “Oklahoma” and “Carousel” to Broadway hits like “Jekel and Hyde”, and this season’s smash rendition of “The Full Monty.”

Once Upon a Mattress FH THeaterOn tap for June is the family-friendly “Once upon a Mattress.” If you think you know the story of the Princess and the Pea, you may be in for a walloping surprise. Did you know, for instance that Princess Winnifred swam the moat to reach Prince Dauntless the Drab? Or that Lady Larkin had a reason to marry Sir Harry post haste? Or that is really wasn’t a pea that keep the Princess up all night? Don’t miss this wildly fractured fairytale!

JUNE 7 – 23, 2013

FH THeater SpamalotLovingly ripped off from the classic film comedy MONTY PYTHON AND THE HOLY GRAIL, SPAMALOT retells the legend of King Arthur and his Knights of the Round Table, and features a bevy of beautiful show girls, not to mention cows, killer rabbits, and French people.  The Broadway version sells out to SRO crowds every weekend, and we expect Fountain Hills Community Theater to follow suit.
