Join McDowell Mountain Regional Park celebrate monsoon season, and learn about the perils of impervious surfaces.

Water is an important part of desert living. Since much of the land is covered by nonporous surfaces such as roads, rooftops, and parking lots, the urban lifestyle has a big impact on water quality. You know it’s monsoon season in Arizona when the weather enthusiasts start to gather.

Join McDowell Mountain Regional Park celebrate monsoon season, and learn about the perils of impervious surfaces.  The park will hold an interactive demonstration with an Enviroscape model. Participants will learn about watersheds, storm water, and water pollutants on July 13th, 2017.  Test your knowledge of storm water with trivia, and win a prize.  The program will begin at 7:00 pm in the Visitor Center of McDowell Mountain Regional Park.
